Dhading Village is situated at the edge of Kathmandu Valley and lies in the Bagmati Zone. Though the village is under developed in terms of infrastructure, nature has shown its kindness to Dhading Village by providing it with diversified weather, different vegetation along with plants and animals. Dhading Village Extension is the geographical region of social organization consisting diverse caste with their cultures innate from very long time ago.
The area extends from 27º 40' N - 28º 14' N Latitude and 84º E - 85 º 1’ East Longitude and is enclosed by Gorkha district in the west, from the east Kathmandu and Nuwakot, from the south Makawanpur and Chitwan and Rasuwa district in the north. Uppermost peak of Ganesh Himal is 7409 meters far above the ground whose most part of the district is located at Tipling VDC. Administratively, Dhading Village Extension or the district itself is divided into 13 regions that consist of 50 VDCs in totality. Each and every VDC is divided into 9 wards. Every one ward is comprised of 1 to 4 clusters depending upon the dimension of the population. The major marginalized ethnic communities in the district are Kumals (1.2%), Chepangs (3%), Dalits(9%), Tamang (19%). As a result these tribal communities encompass inferior socio-economic state which is far behind the normal population of the district. Apart from the poverty, Dhading Village Extension is a good area for trekking. The trip requires 4 to 6 hours, considering the traffic jams and seeing the conditions of road. The rivers like the Trishuli and Budhi Gandaki and others pass through the district. Adding up, Dhading Village Extension provides the panoramic views of Mountains like the well-known Ganesh Himal and others; several beautiful lakes like Ganga and Jamuna and numerous waterfalls. Cultural plurality is the suitable adjective which can be used for Dhading district. The majority of Hindus live in the lower regions where as the higher areas present a huge variety of racial groups, mainly Tibetan Buddhists with their rich cultural and religious history. Nepali and Tamang are the key languages that are spoken in the village with several ethnic people like Magar, Gurung inhabiting the region. Agriculture is the major occupation of the people in the village.
The district spreads from 27'40" E to 28'17" E and 80'17"N to 84'35"N.The mountain range "Ganesh" is the predominate mountain range located within Dhading. Some of the peaks are over 7,000 metres. The 8,000-plus-metre mountain "Manaslu" is clearly visible from much of Dhading, although it is located within the bounds of Gorkha. The transnational "King Prithivi Highway" connecting Kathmandu and Pokhara runs through the southern portion of the district making for easy access too the Kathmandu valley. The road parallels the "Trishuli" River.
The western border with Gorkha is bisected by the "Budhi Gandaki" river and this river valley is a great entrance to the Himals of Gorkha (with views of the Ganesh range), not to mention one of the prettier rivers of Nepal. The towns of Salantar and Arun Ghat should get you pointed in the right direction.
The district is bounded by-
- East:Kathmandu, Rasuwa, Nuwakot
- West: Gorkha
- North:Rasuwa and Tibet
- South: Makwanpur and Chitwan
