Trek to the Everest region begins from Kathmandu where you board a flight to Lukla or the Tenzing-Hillary Airport from Kathmandu. It is a wonderful mountain flight and the flight itself can be no less than an adventure as the airport is enlisted as the most dangerous airport in the world, given the location, altitude and topography. The real trek starts from Lukla from where we trek to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest and then to the Base Camp, exploring the Khumbhu region. An alternative route is also available for those who want to trek all the way to Everest Base Camp without landing at the Lukla Airport. A trekking route from Jiri, not far from Kathmandu, to Lukla is also equally popular among the adventure lovers and trekkers.
