Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan are the major towns in the valley and hold some of the most important and sacred historical monuments. The ancient monuments and temples are the major attraction of the valley, particularly the seven World Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO.

Not only the ancient temples and monuments that make this valley interesting but also its cultural diversity that has attracted many tourists from around the globe. Kathmandu is also the stepping stone for many major treks in Nepal.
